Fascinators for An Afternoon Tea Party

I've always wanted to have the opportunity to wear a fascinator to an event.  Luckily my friend, Tina, wanted to have "an afternoon tea party" themed bridal shower.  Since I was one of her bridesmaids, I quickly came up with the idea of giving away fascinators as party favors for her guests.

After doing a bit of research online and looking at some real life samples, I took a trip to Michaels and Dressew and bought the following supplies:
  • Pink and white tulle (Dressew)
  • Fabric flowers (Michaels)
  • Hair clips with a flat back (Michaels)
  • Felt (Dressew)
  • Iron on interfacing (Dressew)
  • Feathers (Michaels)

Instructions

  • Iron interface to felt.  The purpose is to create more support for the felt when you glue all the items on it.

  •  Once the interface has been ironed on, divide up your felt (if you intend to create more than one fascinator.  In this case, I needed to make at least 20). Draw a tear drop shape in each box.

  • Now you have all the materials ready to start building the fascinator.

  •  Glue the hair clip onto the felt

  •  Cut a piece of tulle and glue it onto the felt

  •  Add some feathers

  •  Finally, glue the flower on top

THAT'S IT! It's that simple.  Just make sure you do some quality checks to make sure the hair clip isn't sealed shut from all the glue.
